How do i hire a model?
To hire a model please click 'Hire a model' down the left hand side. Alternatively you can e-mail your brief to us at modelsnow@live.com and we will send you a shortlist of suitable models.
If applying by post do i get my pictures back?
Yes, if you would like us to return your pictures please include a stamped, addressed envelope.
Does it matter where i live?
No. In the modern world if you really want to do accept a job it is possible to get to location quickly, easily and at a reasonable price. We always agree the job requirements, location and price with you before accepting and travelling costs above 30 miles will be covered by the company hiring you upon request therefore travelling is not normally a problem.
Do i need a professional portfolio?
No. There is no need to splash out on expensive photographs which may get lost or become out-of-date quickly. At 'Models Now' you have an e-portfolio therefore can update you pictures as often as required with either suitable unprofessional pictures or if you'd prefer you can pay out to have professional ones taken in your local area. N.B before pictures are put on the site we must see and accept them first.
Do you need to meet me?
At 'Models Now' we dont need to see you in person. Our panel can see if youre what we require from the pictures you send us. Futhermore, companies that search for models choose them from the pictures we hold.
What happens after i apply?
Once you have sent your initial application with photographs we then analyse them and see if there is a call for people with your look and ensure we dont have models with the same/similar look. We will let you know if you have been accepted within 5 working days.
What if i am accepted?
If you are accepted by our panel you are then offered a 1 year contract with us. With this you are given an e-portfolio (shown the entire year on our website), all the help and guidance you require with access 24-hours online plus you will be told every time your name is put forward for a job.
With your announcement of acception you will be required to fill out our full application form giving us a few more details of yourself and sign and return our terms and conditions. You then just pay our one year administration fee of £29 to contribute towards your webspace etc. which you can pay by cheque, postal order, credit or debit card or paypal.
Do i have to pay anything?
If you are not accepted you pay nothing at all. We never charge for assesments or auditions of any kind.
If you are accepted we ask for a small contribution towards our administration fees involved in setting up your online e-portfolio and making your pictures available for clients to view. This fee is a one-off payment of just £29 for one year. (Thats less than 60p per a week)
When jobs are offered we always agree the price and fee with you first. Once the job is accepted we collect the fee from our client and retain our small agency commision and the rest is paid to you in full on completion of work.
What do i get for this fee?
This fee includes your webspace, support for any changes you make to your profile, and unlimited profile and photo updates. This is a one off fee charged once, there are no hidden charges and no other fees to pay (unless you wish to renew your profile the following year.) That just 59 pence per week to get viewed 24/7 with 500+ hits on our website a day by prospective hirers. This fee is almost always made back in the first job.
Beware of other agencies, which offer a free profile. Nothing in this world is free and you end up paying somewhere else. They generally require you to take professional photos with them, usually around £250! This is not neccessary with Models Now.
Am i employed by you?
We are a modelling agency therefore do not employ models but represent them to potential clients for assignments. Therefore, you are entirely responsible for tax and any national insurance contributions.
How often should i update my portfolio?
you can update your portfolio as often as you like. You simply send us your updated details by e-mail and we will do the rest for you. We reccommend you update your profile at least every few months ensuring your pictures represent you well (to avoid disappointment when arriving to an assignment) and your measurements are still correct.
We ask that you keep us updated to any change of your details especially contact details so we can get in touch you when a job becomes available.
Can i refuse work?
Yes it is entirely up to you which assignments you wish to accept and we always agree the fee, location and requirements of any jobs with you first. You can then make the decision whether to accept or not.
Once you have accepted the job we then rely on you to turn up. You build up your modelling career by gaining a good reputation and reliability plays a big part in that. You are best to refuse the job if you dont think you can make so you dont let the cleints or us down. Our reputatuion relys on you.
Do i need experience?
At 'Models Now' we work with amateur and experienced models so everone is considered.
How much work will i get and how much will i be paid?
We only put you forward for work as much as we can and do not guarantee any work whatsoever. It totally depends on the requirements of clients and their decision of our shortlists are final.
Also, how much you earn depends on how much work you do and the clients budget. We will always agree the fee with you before you accept. We then just take our commission from that.
